LUGARES EN LOS CUALES NO SE PUEDE FUMAR

lugares donde no se puede fumar

Está totalmente prohibido fumar en:

• Establecimientos de educación prebásica, básica y media.
• Recintos donde se expendan combustibles.
• Lugares donde se fabriquen, procesen, depositen o manipulen explosivos, materiales inflamables, medicamentos o alimentos.
• Medios de transporte de uso público o colectivo.
• Ascensores.

Está prohibido fumar en los siguientes lugares, salvo en sus patios y espacios al aire libre:

• Al interior de los recintos o dependencias de instituciones públicas. Sólo se podrá fumar en el caso de oficinas individuales que cuenten con ventilación hacia el aire libre o extracción del aire hacia el exterior.
• Establecimientos de educación superior.
• Establecimientos de salud.
• Aeropuertos y terrapuertos.
• Teatros, cines, lugares en que se presenten espectáculos culturales y musicales, salvo que sean al aire libre.
• Gimnasios y recintos deportivos.
• Supermercados, centros comerciales y demás establecimientos similares de libre acceso al público.

En éstos, podrá existir una o más salas habilitadas para fumar, salvo en los establecimientos de salud.

Estas mismas reglas se aplicarán en empresas, establecimientos, faenas o unidades económicas obligadas a confeccionar un reglamento interno de orden, higiene y seguridad, en conformidad a las normas del Código del Trabajo.

En los lugares de trabajo de propiedad de particulares no comprendidos en los mencionados anteriormente, la existencia de prohibición de fumar o la determinación de sitios y condiciones en que ello se autorizará, serán acordadas por los respectivos propietarios o administradores, oyendo el parecer de los empleados.

Lugares de esparcimiento:

En restoranes, bares, pubs, discotecas, cabarets, casinos de juego y demás establecimientos similares, con una superficie superior a 100 metros cuadrados, para fumar en su interior se deberá separar ambientes para fumadores y para no fumadores, no pudiendo el espacio reservado a estos últimos representar menos del 60% del espacio total destinado a atención de público.

En lugares con una superficie inferior a 100 metros cuadrados se podrá optar por ser un espacio para fumadores o para no fumadores, de lo que deberá informarse en su acceso.

Los espacios habilitados para fumadores deberán estar aislados y contar con mecanismos que impidan el paso del humo hacia el resto del recinto, ventilación hacia el aire libre o extracción del aire hacia el exterior, y a ellos no se permitirá la entrada de menores de 18 años.

'Cuba: Sweet 15'

Robin Thom had the good fortune to be on the right balcony at the right time in order to capture this lovely scene on the Paseo de Prado in Havana, Cuba. "I had always assumed this was a wedding," writes Robin on his Flickr page, "but it was pointed out that this may be the celebration of the coming of womanhood." Wikipedia tells us this celebration is called the "Quinceañera", or Quince Años (Spanish for fifteen years), and is observed in parts of Latin America (the word "Quinceañera" can also refer to the subject of the celebration):

Fifteenth birthday celebrations were very popular in Cuba until the late 1970s. The custom entered the country partly via Spain, but its major influence was French. Wealthy families, who could afford to rent luxurious halls at country clubs or 4/5-star hotels and to hire choreographers, were the actual pioneers of Quinceañeras. Although lower-income families could not afford the same display of wealth, they too started to celebrate Quinceañeras, which they called Quinces. Those celebrations usually took place at the home of the Quinceañera or at the more spacious house of a relative.

While this traditional celebration is still practiced nowadays in Latin America and Latino communities in North America, it is sometimes observed by other events that focus more on the quinceañera's wishes (e.g. world travelling). In some cities, the more proper Baile de las Debutantes (Debutantes' Ball) still survives.

In Tobacco Conspiracy, Lawyers Were Key
Raise your hands when you are done. I'll give you another moment to finish reading U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler's 1,653-page opinion (1,742 pages counting appendices) and 18-page order finding that the nation's top cigarette makers violated federal racketeering laws and deceived the public about the health hazards of smoking.

Ready now? Well, in case you overlooked it, Blog 702 points out that Judge Kessler's ruling included this indictment of the complicity of lawyers in helping to deceive the public:

"Finally, a word must be said about the role of lawyers in this fifty-year history of deceiving smokers, potential smokers, and the American public about the hazards of smoking and second hand smoke, and the addictiveness of nicotine. At every stage, lawyers played an absolutely central role in the creation and perpetuation of the Enterprise and the implementation of its fraudulent schemes. They devised and coordinated both national and international strategy; they directed scientists as to what research they should and should not undertake; they vetted scientific research papers and reports as well as public relations materials to ensure that the interests of the Enterprise would be protected; they identified 'friendly' scientific witnesses, subsidized them with grants from the Center for Tobacco Research and the Center for Indoor Air Research, paid them enormous fees, and often hid the relationship between those witnesses and the industry; and they d evised and carried out document destruction policies and took shelter behind baseless assertions of the attorney client privilege.

"What a sad and disquieting chapter in the history of an honorable and often courageous profession."

The ruling overall "sounds rather a lot like a parent confronting a dishonest child," says William G. Childs at TortsProf Blog. If so, the question may be whether any of the complicit lawyers will get taken to the woodshed.

Project Red Cross Community Response Teams Every Friday, the Mali Red Cross team from Kouremale, a group of 15, hold a meeting to train in first aid and practice what they have learned. Beginning in February of 2006, training small groups of individuals (10-35 people) became a priority in the region along the border of Mali and Ivory Coast, as it had become a haven for waves of refugees. Community members were culled to participate in the training, which included first aid and disaster response. Groups like the one in Kouremale were not only given first aid basics, but also made aware of the importance of being prepared, and of acting together as a team. Playing different roles, and understanding the importance of each one, has helped these small groups operate more efficiently in a place where efficiency is of utmost importance. After all, if one has few resources (material, time, personnel) to begin with, squandering them is not an option. Creating these Community Response Teams was in and of itself a Wow! Project. At the core of the effort was a focus on having the right team of people focus on the roles that they play best, and playing them to the best of their ability. This is true of every Wow! Project. To really make the work sizzle, the right people must be performing an aspect of the work that they feel most comfortable with. Meanwhile, they must allow the other members of the team to make up for what they might be neglecting while focused on their strong point. The compilation of a team needs to account for every aspect of the project, requiring members that have different skills that complement each other. Who hasn't heard of "too many chiefs, not enough Indians"? That applies to teams that have an imbalance in the way of leaders/motivators, but not enough thinkers/teamworkers/implementors/finishers. As a team management tool, the Belbin Assessment helps identify each team member's preferred role. One person may be great at coming up with innovative solutions to problems, but might not be so keen on keeping an eye on the details of the finished product. Someone else on the team might spot those small errors, but not really be up to the task of motivating others to work together. Putting together a team of individuals with strengths that balance weaknesses ensures the maximum efficiency possible on any project, not just relief efforts in Mali. Legal Blog Watch A Better Test for Proving Pretext? For employment lawyers, the test for establishing pretext in discrimination cases can be elusive, to say the least. At Jottings By An Employer's Lawyer, Michael W. Fox likes the test set out last week by the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Yindee v. CCH Inc. As Fox quotes the opinion: "[O]nce a non-retaliatory explanation has been articulated, the plaintiff must show that this explanation is a pretext for discrimination. To do this the employee must establish that the explanation is a lie, which permits a jury to infer that the tale has been concocted to conceal an unlawful truth. ... It is not enough to demonstrate that the employer was mistaken, inconsiderate, short-fused, or otherwise benighted; none of those possibilities violates federal law. ... Poor personnel management receives its comeuppance in the market rather than the courts." The emphasis in that quote comes not from the court but from Fox, who comments: "The direct language of Judge Easterbrook set out in bold above, is, or should be, at the heart of any motion where pretext is an issue -- did the employer lie?" Ambrogi on August 14, 2006 at 02:13 PM | Permalink Letters Debate E-Discovery Snafu Monica Bay continues to cover the e-discovery snafu that may have compromised electronic discovery in the Enron litigation, as first reported last week by Ben Hallman in The American Lawyer. On Friday, Bay posted a letter responding to the article from Scott Nagel, vice president and managing director of LexisNexis Applied Discovery, the company at the center of the report. In it, Nagel addresses what he sees as factual errors in the original report. For one,  he says, the so-called bug in Microsoft Outlook 2003 did not erase anything. "No data was lost as a result of this bug. It did not erase anything but simply caused the text of e-mails to not be displayed. The data is present and can be viewed by applying Microsoft's patch to address the error." The problem, Nagel adds, affected less than .01 percent of Enron e-mails. Bay also conveys further thoughts from EDD consultant Craig Ball -- who was quoted in the original article -- in the form of his letter to Marc Osborn, a member of the LexisNexis PR staff. In response to a LexisNexis statement suggesting that Microsoft did not patch the Outlook bug until the September 2005 release of Service Pack 2, Ball writes: "In fact, the Microsoft Outlook Hotfix to resolve this issue was (per Microsoft's website) released on January 7, 2004 and the issue involving blank Outlook e-mails was also addressed by a patch in the July 27, 2004 MS Office 2003 Service Pack 1. ... "It's no doubt technically accurate to say that the fix was also carried forward into Service Pack 2 in 2005, but don't you want to be forthcoming about the two prior patches that would have solved the problem, perhaps as much as eighteen months earlier?" Time will tell whether this problem could easily have been avoided, says legal technology consultant Ron Friedmann, but in the meantime, "it's a good lesson that litigators and lit supp managers should make sure the tools they use work appropriately." As the initial elation dies down, you face the inevitable question: Now what do I do? You turn, of course, to the instruction book "First 100 Days: Transitioning a New Managing Partner." According to its author, Patrick J. McKenna, this free e-book "provides prescriptive counsel to new firm leaders on what actions they might consider as they begin undertaking their initial responsibilities." Some of the advice offered in this book may strike you as obvious. For example: "Build a working relationship with the departing Managing Partner." "Create constructive dialogue with key thought leaders and power brokers within your firm." And my favorite: "Figure out what you need to know and learn it as rapidly as you can." But, as the book reminds, a new leader's honeymoon is brief. Head of State led regional Cabinet meeting

The President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet, led a Regional Cabinet meeting in La Serena which corresponds to the continuation of the Government’s work with local authorities – as has occurred in Iquique, Antofagasta & Talca – to define the area and regional posture regarding the roadmap provided on May 21, and the regional plan. In this opportunity, several issues were discussed such as the development of agriculture, tourism, fishing and the boost of small and medium sized regional industries, among others. "This is a region that has very active public and private sectors, where there are universities, where it is possible to work with a consortium framework and look at how to develop mega-projects, as how clusters are developed, productive chains that allow these vocations to become a reality such as tourism, fishing, culture or entrepreneurship, thus improving the life of every one of its inhabitants of the IV Region". Regarding infrastructure, the President confirmed the construction of El Bato dam as well as Aguas Negras [Black Waters] pass, both initiatives being very important from an agricultural point of view and the integration with Argentina. Concerning health, she also announced the study of the possibility of improving the assistance networks in the cities of La Serena, Coquimbo and Ovalle together with the primary care of smaller locations. As far as tourism is concerned, she valued the commitment taken by the regional authorities to increase the number of tourists who currently arrive at the region, from 620 thousand to 1 million in the year 2010. "This is an extremely important goal, as tourism is an economic activity that generates resources and employment", she added. Regional agenda Following the meeting with the local authorities, the President went to Vicuña, where she participated in the delivery of watering bonds, in the Puclaro reservoir area. This project, located 40 kilometers from La Serena, started being built in 1996 and allows watering about 20.700 hectares, palliating the drought effects affecting the Elqui valley. This year the administration was transferred to the Junta de Vigilancia [Vigilance Assembly] of the River and its tributaries. Twenty one watering bonds were handed out during the activity, in representation of the various canalista [water channel users] associations and area communities, benefiting 2.495 farmers belonging to the provinces of Elqui, Limarí & Choapa. The President will perform an inspection visit to the remodeling works at San Juan de Dios Hospital in La Serena in the afternoon. The total investment is around 1.700 million pesos and includes the complete change of the roof of the clinic services, tap water pipe repairs, and sewage as well as the electric installations. This is being done thanks to the resources coming from the Programming Agreement between the Ministry of Health and the Regional Development Fund. The works – which began in December of last year – will benefit an estimated population of about 150 thousand people. The end of the works is scheduled for the month of January, 2007. Four vehicles will also be provided in this opportunity which form part of the vehicle exchange program for the region’s Hospitals and include ambulances and shuttles benefiting the Salamanca & Combarbalá Hospitals. The entire project – 190 million pesos – in addition to the aforementioned vehicles, includes three basic ambulances for Combarbalá Hospital, one basic ambulance for Andacollo Hospital and one fully equipped ambulance for Illapel Hospital. For Sholademi, it began as a Russia Day assignment in early June (RUS):

I was given an interesting assignment at work today: to ask ordinary kindergarten and school kids (grades 1-6) to draw our president - Vladimir Vladimirovich. The way they imagine him when they hear the word "Putin."

I've already found a group of school and kindergarten kids for this "experiment." But to be honest, I don't want to limit myself to these two age groups only: from 3 to 6 and from 7 to 12 years old. And geographically, to Moscow alone.

It'd be interesting to see how Putin would be drawn by older people and those from other cities or even other countries.

That's why I want you, my friends and readers of my LJ, to take part in this competition of amateur drawings called "Kids Drawing Putin."

Some schoolkids, especially first- and second-graders - had a very vague idea of how Vladimir Vladimirovich looked in real life.

- How should we draw him, with the hair or hairless? - asked 9-year-old Misha.

Opinions differed. Some children thought that Putin does have something growing on his head: on the sides, at least. Others thought that the Russian president is bold.

A teacher wanted to clarify at some point, but I caught her just in time with a cautioning gesture. Let each child draw Putin's portrait independently, the way he imagines him, not relying on the adults' advice.

This is why girls drew VVP with hair - and sometimes even with a bit too much of it, while boys made Putin look older by leaving a few thin curles on his head.

Another issue of contention was the color of the president's eyes: blue or brown? The girls made his eyes the color of the sky; the boys worked hard on painting them black or brown.

The newspaper's competition of kids' drawings closes on October 7, Putin's birthday, with an exhibition at the State Duma. Winners will receive prizes; their work will be sent to Putin as birthday gifts.

Not surprisingly, prizes will be Putin-themed (RUS):

First place: A black labrador puppy - same as Putin's favorite dog Kony. To the winner's parents - a keg of German beer.

Second place: A Japanese kimono robe with black belt. To parents - also, a keg of German beer.

Third place: A German language audio course for beginners. And a keg of German beer for the parents.

Legal Blog Watch Lawyers and Pro Bono Back when I was in law school, I always envisioned pro bono work as representing a client who couldn't afford a lawyer. Like the penniless elderly woman living in an uninhabitable apartment building facing eviction by an evil slumlord. The minimum-wage mom with three kids trying to get a divorce from an abusive spouse. A defendant accused of a capital crime who might be able to show he was wrongly accused if he could afford a lawyer and a decent team of experts rather than the lawyer assigned by the court to take the case for a capped fee of $3,000. Or the homeless men I used to represent here in D.C. when I started my legal career, who were trying to recover unemployment benefits or clean up their credit that was tarnished when they signed up for loans from a sham vocational program.  So much for my innocent visions of pro bono; apparently, it's gone and grown up while I wasn't looking. As Linda Singer writes in this article,  Why Lawyers Should Take on Pro Bono, pro bono projects now encompass providing free work for banks to help them deal with Patriot Act concerns or evaluating the success of the No Child Left Behind Act or the effectiveness of state and local government efforts to help Hurricane Katrina victims back to self-sufficiency. I know that all of these efforts help the public. Yet, should this all count as pro bono? Do lawyers really need incentive to work on projects where they interact with banks and government officials and, in the process, build their contacts and resumes? And while these programs are undoubtedly important, pro bono efforts devoted on these matters diverts attention from representing individuals whose matters don't make headlines, but who really do not have any other options. What's your opinion? Should we encourage large firms to participate in large, "impact case" matters pro bono? And if we do, how do we address the problem of the individuals who need pro bono help? El Reino Unido prohíbe llevar equipaje de mano en los aviones

El tráfico aéreo británico comienza a normalizarse | 10 de agosto de 2006

 

El tráfico aéreo en el Reino Unido vuelve poco a poco a la normalidad tras el caos vivido el jueves. El aeropuerto de Heathrow ya permite la llegada y salida de aviones, aunque las medidas de seguridad siguen siendo exhaustivas y los retrasos continuarán durante todo el viernes.

 

BAA, la empresa gestora del aeródromo, confirmó que la restricción se levantó el jueves a las 18:00 hora peninsular y "las aerolíneas están de nuevo operando vuelos de corta distancia (menos de tres horas de duración) hacia Heathrow".

 

A las 19:00 horas de el jueves, un total de 302 vuelos con destino al aeropuerto londinense se habían cancelado, mientras que el retraso medio de las llegadas era de una media hora.

 

A esa misma hora, un total de 309 vuelos que tenían previsto salir de Heathrow habían sido suspendidos, entre ellos todos los servicios de corta distancia que la aerolínea British Airways (BA) preveía operar durante la jornada.

 

Las compañías aéreas aconsejan a los pasajeros que confirmen sus vuelos por Internet De cara al viernes, BAA señala que aunque Heathrow estará abierto, será inevitable que algunos vuelos se cancelen. La compañía aeroportuaria añade que las medidas de seguridad introducidas en respuesta a la amenaza terrorista seguirán vigentes durante todo el día.

 

El resto de aeropuertos británicos opera con normalidad, aunque los registros de equipajes de mano están siendo exhaustivos y ello está provocando la demora de numerosos vuelos.

 

Cancelaciones en España

En nuestro país, hasta las 19:00 horas de el jueves los aeropuertos españoles habían operado 366 vuelos de un total de 787 programados con el Reino Unido, según datos de Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA), que aconseja a los viajeros que se informen de la situación de sus viajes.

 

Iberia canceló 13 vuelos entre España y la capital británica, más sus respectivos regresos: seis desde Madrid, tres desde Barcelona y uno desde Valencia, Sevilla, Bilbao y La Coruña. La compañía ha programado para hoy un Airbus A340-600 para volar la ruta Madrid-Londres en sustitución de un A320, lo que supondrá un incremento de 380 plazas.

 

Los pasajeros de Iberia que tengan un vuelo con origen, destino o tránsito en cualquier aeropuerto del Reino Unido pueden posponer el viaje sin penalización, o bien solicitar el reembolso del importe del billete.

Trama terrorista

 

El Reino Unido ha reforzado la seguridad en todos los aeropuertos británicos después del anuncio ayer de Scotland Yard del desmantelamiento de una trama terrorista. Un total de 24 personas han sido detenidas en el área de Londres como resultado de la operación policial.

 

Siguiendo instrucciones del Gobierno británico, los pasajeros no podrán llevar bolsos de mano a bordo de aviones que partan de cualquier aeropuerto del Reino Unido. Esta medida la aplicarán todas las compañías que operan en los aeropuertos británicos.

 

Los pasajeros sólo podrán llevar sus efectos personales, pasaportes y billeteras en bolsas de plástico transparentes. Cualquier viajero que se niegue a cumplir con las restricciones impuestas sobre equipaje no será autorizado a entrar en el avión.

 

Por este motivo, miles de viajeros se exponen este viernes a un segundo día de retrasos, cancelaciones de vuelos y angustiosas demoras. Pese a la insistencia de algunas compañías de que hoy retornaría poco a poco la normalidad en el cumplimiento de los horarios, algunos vuelos han sido cancelados y son de esperar fuertes retrasos en otros.

 

Las compañías aéreas aconsejan a sus pasajeros que consulten el estado de sus vuelos por Internet, se presenten con tiempo suficiente en el aeropuerto y no lleven equipaje de mano porque tendrán que entregarlo en el mostrador.

 

Los pasajeros sólo podrán llevar sus efectos personales en bolsas de plástico transparentes British Airways (BA) expresa en su página web su confianza en que saldrían "la inmensa mayoría" de los vuelos aunque aconseja a los potenciales viajeros que, antes de dirigirse al aeropuerto, consultasen su página en la Red .

 

"British Airways operará todos los vuelos de larga distancia desde Gatwick y desde Heathrow con excepción de algunos con dirección a Estados Unidos", reza el comunicado colgado en la red refiriéndose a los dos aeropuertos del área londinense. La compañía británica agrega que esperaba que operen normalmente todos los vuelos de corta distancia desde el aeropuerto de Gatwick con excepción de nueve que han sido cancelados. "Asimismo se confía en mantener aproximadamente un 60% de los vuelos de corta distancia así como los nacionales a partir de y con dirección al aeropuerto de London Heathrow", especifica BA, que reconoce al mismo tiempo que seguirán las perturbaciones.

 

Los vuelos entre el aeropuerto madrileño de Barajas y el londinense de Heatrhow operan hoy con normalidad. Por otra parte, Iberia recuerda que también las autoridades del de Estados Unidos han implantado restricciones en el equipaje de mano. En EE. UU., tanto los vuelos de salida como en los de llegada no está permitido transportar líquidos o geles en el equipaje de mano.

 

El operador de los principales aeropuertos británicos, BAA, recientemente adquirido por el grupo español Ferrovial, informaba a su vez de que se están produciendo "significativas perturbaciones en las operaciones debido al incremento de las medidas de seguridad" en Heathrow. "El aeropuerto está abierto y se espera que pueda recuperar prácticamente su normalidad, aun cuando respetando las nuevas restricciones, en los próximos días", añadía BBA.

 

Ayer jueves, el caos fue absoluto en los principales aeropuertos, pero sobre todo en el de Heathrow debido a la cancelación de más de 200 de los 550 vuelos que diariamente salen de este último. En vista del caos, varias compañías extranjeras como Iberia, Lufthansa, Air Lingus o Air France suspendieron ayer todos o parte de sus vuelos a la capital británica.

 

Mientras en Nueva York la preocupación y los nervios se hicieron más notorios de lo habitual ayer en los rostros de numerosos pasajeros que se disponían a abordar un vuelo trasatlántico desde el aeropuerto John F. Kennedy. Algunos viajeros no podían ocultar la inquietud, al coincidir su viaje con la noticia de la desarticulación de un complot para atentar contra aviones en ruta entre este país y el Reino Unido.

 

Retrasos y cancelaciones

El aeropuerto de Heathrow canceló todos los vuelos de llegada previstos hasta las 20:00 horas del jueves. Las autoridades aeroportuarias británicas pidieron a todas las aerolíneas que canceleran sus vuelos a Londres-Heathrow. Los de salida se mantuvieron, aunque con importantes retrasos.

El resto de aeropuertos británicos continuó operando, aunque los registros de equipajes de mano fueron exhaustivos, lo que provocó el retraso de numerosos vuelos.

En el aeropuerto de Manchester (norte de Inglaterra), los retrasos para despachar maletas fueron de unas tres horas, especialmente en los vuelos nacionales. Un portavoz de esa base aérea informó de que el personal aeroportuario entregó bolsas de plástico a la gente para que pudiera llevar sus artículos más necesarios, como pasaportes y billeteras.

 

En el aeropuerto de Stansted, al norte de Londres, una portavoz dijo que no había problemas importantes pero pidió a la gente que tuviera paciencia y que colaborara con las autoridades aeroportuarias.

 

El Centro Conjunto de Análisis de Terrorismo del Reino Unido elevó el jueves el nivel de amenaza de "severo" (probable) al "crítico". La amenaza de un "inminente" ataque terrorista provocó el caos en los aeropuertos británicos y numerosas cancelaciones de vuelos en Europa.

 

La compañía española Iberia, la alemana Lufthansa y la griega Olympic, entre otras, anunciaron la suspensión temporal de sus vuelos a Londres a raíz del descubrimiento en el Reino Unido de un supuesto complot para hacer estallar varios aviones en el aire. También la compañía Air Berlin canceló la mayoría de sus vuelos dentro y hacia el Reino Unido, dijo una portavoz.

 

Iberia se vió obligada a cancelar un total de nueve vuelos con destino a Londres.

 

Del total de vuelos cancelados, cuatro salían desde Madrid-Barajas, dos desde Barcelona-El Prat, uno desde Valencia, otro desde Bilbao y otro desde Sevilla, además de sus respectivos regresos.

 

Las salidas desde el aeropuerto de Heathrow también se vieron afectadas por fuertes demoras, que afectaron a los dos vuelos de Iberia que pudieron operar hasta aquel momento, uno con destino Madrid y otro Barcelona.

 

Los aeropuertos españoles operaron un total de 181 vuelos, el 56,9%, de los 318 que había programados el día 10 entre España y el Reino Unido hasta las 14:00 horas, según fuentes de AENA. El número total de operaciones programadas para todo el día entre aeropuertos españoles y el Reino Unido era de 787, de los que 56 eran hacia el Aeropuerto de Londres-Heathrow.

 

Más seguridad en EE.UU.

Aunque las restricciones de momento no son tan estrictas como en el Reino Unido, los pasajeros procedentes de vuelos internacionales serán sometidos a fuertes inspecciones al llegar a territorio estadounidense, afirman las autoridades.

Recomendaciones

La aerolínea británica de bandera recomendaba ayer a los viajeros que se quedaran en casa si no tenían necesidad imperiosa de viajar y a aquellos que ya tuvieran adquirido el billete les ha ofrecido la posibilidad de devolverles el dinero o de cambiar la fecha del vuelo para antes del 1 de diciembre próximo.

 

AENA aconseja a todos los pasajeros que tengan previsto viajar al Reino Unido que confirmen con sus compañías la situación de sus vuelos.

 

El Ministerio de Exteriores advierte de que estas medidas están suponiendo considerables retrasos en el embarque de pasajeros y para el aeropuerto de Heathrow recomienda presentarse con antelación de 3 a 5 horas. Para más información los consumidores pueden visitar la web del Ministerio de Exteriores, donde se actualizará la información sobre las recomendaciones oficiales. También se puede llamar a estos números de teléfono: 91 379 97 00, 91 379 83 00 y 91 379 17 00, propios del departamento de Servicios Consulares.

 

Iberia comunicaba ayer a Consumer.es EROSKi mediante una nota de prensa que va a flexibilizar las condiciones de los billetes para facilitar los cambios y reembolsos a los clientes afectados. Así mismo informa a todos los pasajeros que viajen a terceros destinos, vía un aeropuerto del Reino Unido, de que deberán pasar el control de emigración en el primer aeropuerto de llegada, recoger su equipaje y volver a facturar.

 

La compañía British Airways habilitó en su sitio web una página con información actualizada sobre el estado de los vuelos.

 

La aerolínea de bajo coste easyJet canceló todos sus vuelos previstos para el jueves y hacía los tres aeropuertos de Londres en los que opera: Gatwick, Luton y Stansted. La compañía aconsejó a los pasajeros afectados por las cancelaciones que no se desplazaran hasta el aeropuerto y que entraran en la página web de la aerolínea, www.easyjet.com , para que se les devolviera el dinero de los billetes o la posibilidad de viajar en una fecha posterior sin coste alguno.

 

El teléfono de AENA para consultas de clientes es el 902 404 704. En su web hay un apartado para consultar en tiempo real información sobre los vuelos.

 

 Prohibiciones El Departamento de Transportes británico pidió hoy a todos los pasajeros aéreos que sean "pacientes y comprensivos" y que "cooperen plenamente con la policía y el personal de seguridad de los aeropuertos". Además, difundió una lista de los efectos personales básicos que los pasajeros podrán llevar consigo en sus viajes, "en una sola bolsa de plástico, a ser posible transparente", ya que los bolsos están prohibidos.

 

Las normas establecidas para acceder al embarque son:

 

1.        Los equipajes de mano deberán ser facturados y los pasajeros sólo podrán llevar consigo algunos efectos personales en una bolsa de plástico, y nada en los bolsillos.

2.        Sólo podrán llevar carteras y monederos pequeños con su contenido imprescindible (dinero, tarjetas de crédito, carnés de identidad) y los documentos de viaje esenciales (pasaporte y billetes).

3.        Los viajeros que lo precisen podrán llevar también consigo medicamentos y material médico en una cantidad suficiente y esencial para el vuelo (por ejemplo kits para personas diabéticas), pero no en estado líquido, "a menos que se verifique que es auténtico".

4.        Las gafas están permitidas, pero sin funda, y los envases de lentillas, pero no sus líquidos.

5.        Quienes viajen con niños pueden llevar alimentos infantiles y leches, pero su contenido deberá ser probado por el pasajero adulto que acompañe al bebé. También efectos sanitarios suficientes para el vuelo (pañales, toallitas, cremas y bolsas de desecho para pañales).

6.        Las mujeres podrán llevar asimismo artículos de higiene femenina (compresas, tampones, toallitas) a ser posible desempaquetados, y pañuelos de papel.

 

7.        El Departamento advierte además a los pasajeros de que todo líquido será confiscado.

8.        Se permitirán también llaves, pero no electrónicas.

9.        Toda silla de ruedas, bastón o andador tendrá que pasar por los escáneres de seguridad y los rayos X, y después del control de seguridad sólo se permitirán las sillas de ruedas del aeropuerto.

El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores añade en su página web que "por el momento, no hay indicación alguna del tiempo durante el cual van a estar vigentes estas medidas de seguridad".
